LCVA winter gala set for Feb. 13

PeoniesA silent auction, live music and dancing will highlight the 2016 Longwood Center for the Visual Arts biennial winter gala set for Feb.13.

The event benefits LCVA programs, including exhibitions and the center’s broad range of activities for community members and outreach to area schools. The gala auction will feature fine arts and crafts valued from $50 to $4,000.

The theme of the 2016 LCVA Gala will feature the art, mystery and wonder of the Southern Garden.

Charles H. Dowdy III and Candice Jamison Dowdy ’69 and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network are the lead sponsors of the gala, and they join Stan and Linda Cheyne as cochairs of the gala committee. Robert Mayo and Margaret Thomas Mayo ’52, both of whom have deep connections to LCVA and Longwood, are honorary chairs.

Advance purchase ticket packages ($250 for two tickets) go on sale Nov. 16; individual tickets, at $100 each, will be available beginning Dec. 1.The event traditionally sells out.
