The Princeton Review names Longwood a ‘Best Value’

Longwood is one of the nation’s “Best Value” colleges and universities, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company selected Longwood as one of 75 public institutions to be featured in its book, The Best Value Colleges: 2014 Edition. This is the third year that Longwood has made the list.

The Best Value Colleges: 2014 Edition, subtitled “The 150 Best-Buy Colleges and What It Takes to Get In,” profiles 75 public and 75 private colleges that The Princeton Review designates as “Best Values” based on the company’s surveys of 2,000 undergraduate institutions in 2012-13.

The selection process analyzed information across more than 30 data points covering academics, cost and financial aid as well as data from The Princeton Review’s surveys of students at the schools over the past three academic years.

“We commend Longwood University and all of our ‘Best Value Colleges’ for their outstanding academics,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s senior vice president and publisher. “Equally impressive are their efforts to be affordable to students with need—either via comparatively low sticker prices or generous financial aid, or both.”

The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University and is not a magazine.
